A shaman in the north of Norway once said to MILÙ: “You’re singing like the sea - silent and irascible.” The man couldn’t have found any better words. Only a few artists have the gift to scrape a moment of archaic vitality at the listener. Once the scrape is there, they cry, grin and walk out the door seemingly relaxed, just to come back again.
Co-operations with film makers came up later. Then the way to the first solo album “No Future in Gold” was free. “My most beautiful mistake” MILÙ calls her German-tongued album today and: “A human has to commit mistakes passionately to know where the own roots are”. If you hear the songs of her current album ‘Longing speaks with many tongues’. Songs like ‘Tara’, ‘Warm’ or ‘Frida’ one can guess she found her roots. “Longing speaks with many tongues” is an almost purist new beginning. Simple and peaceful
It is not only the voice which makes MILÙ that unique, it is her vocal bandwidth, her multi-faceted expression. It is just consequent that she makes use of her own language on her second album - A universal vowel language making us guess the orient is in the polar sea.
