SIMPLE MINDS always have been like a chameleon when it comes to music. Once they started with punk music and as time went on they began experimenting with the emerging currents of Wave music, rock and pop. Those styles coined the band just as much as they coined the music.
But even though there’s been a lot of criticism about them, the band stood their ground and after about 32 years in the business are still on top with their songs now being a mixture of all of the aforementioned and which has brought worth such songs as ‘Belfast Child’ or ‘(Don’t You) Forget About Me’. On 26th July they’ll be performing at Westfalenhalle in Dortmund and who knows, one or the other new song might be played as well.
