sextile yespleaseSEXTILE, the Los Angeles-based duo known for their pulsating, electronic Techno-Post-Punk, has announced their new album titled ‘yes, please’, set for release on May 2 via Sacred Bones. Along with the announcement, the band shares the first single, ‘Freak Eyes’, which elevates their dark signature sound to new heights. The track opens with a throbbing bass growl, which abruptly shifts into a techno beat with clattering drums:

“I feel the pressure / Man the pressure I feel when we're together,” sings frontman Brady Keehn coolly. Inspired by the idea that pressure can drive both challenges and growth, ‘Freak Eyes’ conjures electrifying images of gritty backrooms on the Sunset Strip and warehouse dance floors. “‘Freak Eyes’ is about the pressures of making art, living, and aspiring. The sound was inspired by house parties we went to in NY, where certain tracks had that conversation-stopping power. If you were in the middle of talking with a friend and heard these songs, everything else faded away - you just joined the collective release of emotion, singing, dancing, and drinks flying everywhere. It felt like, in that moment, nothing else mattered but that energy we all shared. I hadn’t seen that kind of raw energy at a party in a long time, and I wanted to bring that feeling back into the world again.”

After playing numerous festivals and headlining shows across Germany last year - including Maifeld Derby and About Pop Festival - SEXTILE returns to Germany this June. Don’t miss out!

June 23 – Zirka, Munich

While some bands find their groove and stick to it, SEXTILE thrives on reinvention and movement. The L.A.-based duo - composed of Melissa Scaduto and Brady Keehn - works with unstoppable energy and a love for everything from No Wave to Techno, blending these influences seamlessly on their acclaimed 2023 debut album ‘Push’. Their upcoming album, ‘yes, please.’, fuses anarchic electro-fire with raw personal reflections - and enough bass to blow out a speaker (or two). It’s an album of contrasts: vulnerable and unfiltered, while also revelling in excess, pushing the limits of their sound by shedding inhibitions. From the blaring rave siren that kicks off the album - an homage to 2000s New York house parties - to its wild, intoxicating roof-raisers, ‘yes, please.’ is an action-packed dance record. At the same time, it stands as a testament to living boldly and never looking back.
