corde oblique criesandwhispersCORDE OBLIQUE’s eight studio album ‘Cries and Whispers’ is a double album inspired by homonymous Bargman’s movie ‘Cries and Whispers’; the album is split in two sides: Volume 1 ‘Cries’ (Post Metal / Folkgaze) and Volume 2 ‘Whispers’ (Ethereal / Post Folk). The album is going to be released on February 14 2025, for the 20th anniversary of the band (2005-2025) and includes 10 unreleased tracks composed by mastermind Riccardo Prencipe plus a cover from the band ALCEST (‘Souvenirs d’un autre monde’) and one solo guitar song (Satie’s ‘Gnossienne’ n. 1). Featuring: SPIRITUAL FRONT, IRFAN, members of ASHRAM, and the Italian actress Maddalena Crippa.

“In the 90s, when I was 18, in addition to my first band LUPERCALIA, I played in another Extreme Metal band. However, at the time I found our sound a bit outdated and abandoned it, but I never stopped listening to it. For years I had dreamed of returning to my origins, but in a different, less conventional way, taking advantage of twenty years of record production experience, and so I wrote an album divided into two volumes, apparently very different, using:
- For the VOL. 1 the electric guitar (with a sound that fused Post Rock with Death and Black Metal style riffs)
- And for the VOL. 2 the classical guitar (using the technique I learned during my exams at the conservatory). These two sounds have always coexisted within me.”
