“The bayonet tongue of silence, whispering just to remind us” and “I leave nothing for death but bones and the solitude. Jester jokes, igniting my energy and bringing me to my knees, in this 21st century, so help this sinner please, this is only one part of me - There’s Always Gonna Be Something, So What’s it Gonna Be Today?”
Kelly comments: “‘There’s Always Gonna Be Something’ is a song that could describe the restlessness of uncertainty, the struggle for acceptance. A part of all of us.”
The music video for ‘There’s Always Gonna Be Something’ features the band performing at Broadlands Estate in Hampshire, playing together in the Orangery and the surrounding grounds. Shot entirely in infrared, the video presents a breathtaking, pink-hued world.
With a career spanning three decades and record-breaking achievements, including eight No.1 albums, STEREOPHONICS have earned their legendary status and the respect of fans, peers, and artists across generations - from BOB DYLAN and DAVID BOWie to DUA LIPA. In 2025, the band marks their long-awaited return with ‘Make 'em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make 'em Wait’ - a sharp, punchy eight-track album written and recorded in London. Stripped of excess, every track delivers with clarity and precision, offering a hopeful, uplifting experience that lives up to its title. You Laugh, You Cry, You Wait.
As with previous album artwork, Kelly Jones took inspiration from various art forms, including paintings, books, and films, to shape the album’s aesthetic. Speaking about ‘Make 'em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make 'em Wait’, Kelly shares: “I went to New York, visited some galleries, and came across the painting ‘Art Is A Guaranty Of Sanity’ by Louise Bourgeois. She believed that art was a form of mental healing and a way to process difficult emotions. The spelling caught my eye first, then the simplicity of the words, etched onto a pink tile. Inspired by my old art college teacher from thirty years ago, I scratched my album title in a similar way. I was thrilled - I loved the simplicity of the pink. The pink album was born.”
With an upcoming world tour that has already sold over 300,000 tickets, including some of their biggest shows to date, STEREOPHONICS continue to prove why they remain one of the most consistent and beloved bands of our time. Their ability to blend rock sensibilities with soaring melodies keeps their sound fresh, while Kelly Jones’ introspective lyrics resonate more deeply with each passing year. STEREOPHONICS have never rested on their laurels, and this year's live shows promise to be among their most dynamic yet.
