Eight years can be a damn long time; millions of AC/DC fans all around the world can tell you a thing or two about it. We remember: Last time, when the Australian Rock icons released a studio album, the German national coach’s name was Erich Ribbeck and Stefan Raab’s ‘Maschendrahtzaun’ haunted the charts. In autumn 2008, the time shall be come; the yet untitled successor to ‘Stiff Upper Lip’ will see the light of day. It is the meanwhile 15th studio album of the band and created under the direction of super-producer Brendan O’Brien, who already put the finishing touches on songs of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, PEARL JAM and INCUBUS.Who already is on tenterhooks, gets served an appetizer to the overshadowing AC/DC mega event by Angus Young & Co. on 5th September with the DVD ‘Bull’, a live recording of a concert, taking place on 10th July 1996 at Madrid’s bullfight arena “De Toros De Las Ventas”. Just like last time with the 1991 concert movie ‘Live at Dominton’, David Mallet is the director, who was never really satisfied with the swiftly released VHS version. With the re-release of the concert recording, being filmed during the “Ballbreaker”-Tour, he now had the chance to re-edit the filmed material in HD and to completely re-mix the audio in stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound.
Besides the 2-hour concert, comprising 20 songs and created with the line-up Angus Young (Lead Guitar), Malcolm Young (Guitar), Brian Johnson (Vocals), Cliff Williams (Bass) and Phil Rudd (Drums), the DVD also features “Angus” cam versions of the songs ‘Shoot To Thrill’, ‘Hail Caesar’, ‘Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution’ and ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’, as well as two recordings from the “Ballbreaker” tour, not recorded in Madrid: ‘Cover You In Oil’ (Götheborg, Sweden) und ‘Down Payment Blues’ (Daytona, Florida). On top you’ll get a complete band discography, so “Let There Be Rock”!
