After released an album end of 2010, PANYCHIDA are back with something new already one year later. ‘Woodland Journey’ is not really an album. Even though it contains 12 songs, only three of them are new. The rest of the album are re-recordings of older pieces, cover versions and live recordings. The new pieces spread the typical PANYCHIDA atmosphere with dark hook-lines and decent Folk influences as well as some Heavy Metal elements with a pinch of Epic Black Metal. The overall quality of the release it good, even though people might have wished for some more new compositions.
Conclusion: A good release to stay in mind until the next real studio album will be released.
