Flash Review
After their rocking and shaking but strangely anaemic excursion to the climes of Indie/ Alternative rock, the Swedish foursome has blessedly returned to more traditional and fitting virtues on ‘Our Need For Solace’, their seventh album so far. Dreamy Wave-Pop with a proper dose of melancholy. Somewhere between textures, which seem to have jumped sonically straight out of the 80´s (‘Some Pick On The Weakest After Sensing Their Fears’), THE SMITHS-like guitar pop jewels (‘Young Mother’) and profound but catchy indulgence-rock arrangements (quite close to the late PSYCHEDELUC FURS – ‘Cursed With Survival’) Mr. Tekeyan and his allies have made a coherent album, that owns a charming and enjoyable nostalgic complexion without to sound inconveniently antiquated.
Conclusion: The stencil is familiar, doubtlessly, but enjoyable nevertheless.
