Review Flash

OGRE is back with their 5th output, ‘Thrice as Strong’. This classic Doom band with heavy 70s influences and a BLACK SABBATH like approach to their music (Ed Cunningham’s vocals remind me very much of Ozzy), the overall sound has bits and pieces of stoner rock and 70`s era doom all over it, never would you think this is a 2019 release if no one would tell you. I really like it fuzzy and fuzz is what they provide aside from heavy guitar work from Ross Markonish, hell they even have a Stephen King tribute with ‘King of the Wood’... I love King’s work from a to c. OGRE is a little hard on me sometimes because I often review bands of the NWOTHM which are more on the 80s side of Classic Metal but if you dig your doom old school this might be your cup of tea.

Conclusion: If you like bands like PORTION CONTROL or OUT OUT this might be the next big thing for you.

Rating: 6 / 10
