Review Flash

Come and board the time machine with me and cruise back in time to listen to the brand new record of Balingen, Baden-Württemberg’s STORMHUNTER. STORMHUNTER was originally formed in 1998, after several line-up changes and a change of band name to SUBSPHERE (without Müller) the guys called it quits in 2003. Since mid-2007, Stefan Müller wrote new songs and assembled a bunch of friends to revive STORMHUNTER. ‘An Eye for an I’ is the band’s third full-length in that line-up. Style-wise this is European imprinted Power Metal with a heavy dose of Teutonic Metal in the vein of HELLOWEEN and RUNNING WILD. The compositions vary from simple up-tempo to catchy stuff (‘Tortured Mind’). Urschler’s voice is a nice mix of powerful and rough to clean and classic high.
The riffs and hooks hit home and the melodies are ear candy material.

Conclusion: If you like Teutonic metal, melodic, fast and rough you will want to check in on STORMHUNTER.
