When I think about Woodstock the first thing that comes to mind is Hippies, Marijuana and free love, but listening to FIRING SQUAD is quite a different thing. Formed in 2019 in Woodstock New York these four guys are bound to raise the bar on what Thrash Metal is in the 21st century. There is a lot of progressive music in the style these guys play but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Will Lange on vocals sound pissed to the maximum of physical possibilities while riffing like a machine gun, Weiss on rhythm guitar shares pace-making duty with bass man Elliot Mangione and drummer Rosenbaum. Everything about this band is fast, violent yet still fun. Yes I said fun, even if the material is mostly pretty critic when it comes to social structures and living in these complicated times. I for one am looking forward to November 10th when the new single ‘Police State of Mind’ hits the scene like a brick in the face. I dare to predict we will hear and see more of these gentlemen because you can’t have enough of a good thing and FIRING SQUAD most definitely is good.
Conclusion: If you like heavy music with an audible and expertly played bass and aggression focused like a death-beam check out FIRING SQUAD with ‘American Carnage’ and their soon to follow single ‘Police State of Mind’.
