POWER GAME is one of those bands that constantly balance on the border between high energy Rock and raw Heavy Metal heavily inspired by the more punk influenced NWOBHM bands like TANK and VENOM while also worshipping MOTÖRHEAD every now and then. The four-piece POWER GAME was formed in 2012 in the city of Bielefeld, their discography includes: the demo ‘Raw Heavy Metal’ two LPs (‘Beast on the Attack’ and ‘Masquerade’) and this fine old-school EP ‘The Lockdown Tapes’. The first time I became aware of POWER GAME was in 2019, when they did release ‘Masquerade’ which was critically acclaimed at that time. Sound-wise this is well played, arranged heavy music to drink, party and lose your mind to. The riffs are thick and plenty, the drums are on point and the vocals are pure NWOBHM gold. I will have to check out the rest of these guys pretty fast.
