Cultus Ferox
CORVUS CORAX, SALTATIO MORTIS, CULTUS FEROX and others - there are quite a few German bands these days combining Metal with its typical instruments (electric guitars, bass, drums) with medieval tunes from bag-pipes, shawms, flutes and different percussion instruments. This October evening, CULTUS FEROX were to appear in the Röhre Stuttgart, and as I had never seen them live on stage before, I was curious to see their show. The band’s sound is clearly orientated towards the medieval stuff, but they occasionally also use electric guitars and drums. A group like CULTUS FEROX is surely better off on a medieval market or festival, with the appropriate surroundings their music shows a lot more impact. Not too many visitors had made their way to the Röhre, and the attendees were a motley crew made up of Goths, Metal heads, and quite "normal" people, and from teenagers to a 72 year old lady everything was represented. After quite a long time of waiting, during which we asked ourselves who would be the guest act and if it eventually had cancelled, CULTUS FEROX finally entered the stage. No support act - I don’t know if this wasn’t able to perform or if it hadn’t been planned from the beginning. http://www.roehre-konzerte.de/

Fish
After another few weeks touring Europe, Fish and his band ended their tour in De Boerderij, Zoetermeer. Fish has the reputation of being a comical man. And since this was the last show in the 'Return to Childhood' tour, it promised to be a very special evening.

Conorach, Valkyre, The Thirsty Dog
It was an early morning, especially for a Sunday. Drove all the way to the Archeon. It is a historical theme park. But today there was more to see than ‘just’ the prehistoric, medieval and roman era. Today a few parallel universes were added. The midwinter fair is a day in fairytale land with a nice touch of metal and folk music.

L’âme Immortelle, XPQ-21, Punto Omega
09th December 2006 - on this cold evening we went to Osnabrück to the very nice location ROSENHOF. We had visited this charming location several times before and every time again we enjoyed the very nice ambiance of the ROSENHOF. This time we went there for the bands L'ÂME IMMORTELLE, XPQ21 and PUNTO OMEGA. Unfortunately we missed the first support JESUS ON EKSTASY because they had played about one hour earlier than announced at the venue website. At 20 past 7, we had just arrived, PUNTO OMEGA entered the stage.

Silbermond, Do you mind
SILBERMOND is one of the many young German bands which have risen over the last two or three years to gain immense success in their home country. The fact that most of them are fronted by a female vocalist singing in her native language already has become some sort of cliché and a formula that major record label use to sign more and more bands of that kind, hoping that they have the next big thing at their hands. We checked out SILBERMOND’s “Laut gedacht” tour to see if this band has more to offer than just a few radio-friendly Pop tunes.
