Autumn and Nemesea
The dark nights before Christmas are always a bit hard: there are too many people searching for the perfect christmas present. Luckily there is the 'Vera' with a warm atmosphere. Soon it is crowded in the venue, a good sign.

Morning, Valkyre, Trisomy
In the early morning of December 17th we drove (slithered actually) through heavy hail to get to the Archeon, a historical theme park in Alphen aan den Rijn. You can visit prehistoric times, the middle ages and the Roman era and this day there was a gothic and fantasy midwinter fair. Every house and building filled with stores to everybody’s liking, there are lectures, fights and there is music!
In the ‘Refter’ (the dinner space of the monks) there is a small stage set up, with a few lamps to create some atmosphere.

Subway to Sally and Leaves Eyes
The longest night of the year brought the last concert before Christmas of the recent “Subway to Sally” tour together with “Leaves Eyes” who were on headliner tour before. As I entered the parking site I saw a huge queue waiting in front of the sold out venue. Nearly 2000 people came to see “Subway to Sally” on their “Nord-Nord-Ost” Tour. The venue filled up very quickly so that the opener “Leaves Eyes” had the luck to play in front of a big audience. The audience itself was quite mixed on that evening. You could see quite old fans mixed up with a lot of youngsters.

Chimaira, Dark Tranquillity, Hatesphere
Northern Europe and America met that evening in a real thunderstorm of sounds and light. As cherry on the cake, support Hatesphere could keep up with the headliners and was the secret tip of the evening. Hatesphere started very much in time – exactly five minutes before time – into the evening. According to this, we sadly missed the first song. But besides us many other people still arrived and so the band started in front of a well filled up venue.

TBC, De Woanzin, Nuestros Derechos
On a cold and freezing night in Schoonhoven a large group of friends, some of the usual bar visitors and an other group of young people gathered in the Holle Bolle Gijs café. There was no stage, the bands were playing at one side and the audience was on the other side of the café. The lighting was provided by Christmas lights and they brought all their own equipment. No thanks to the circumstances it was a great and crazy night with great performances.
