Chris Megaherz 0009Some things take time. Chris was one of the first musicians that I asked to become a part of our project. I already had the pictures of his tattoos that I took a long time ago, but we couldn’t find the time for the interview that would work until March of this year. To meet with Chris, I had to take advantage of the possibility that MEGAHERZ would include Frankfurt in their new tour schedule. It worked out this time, and now you can see and read the results.

Reflections of Darkness [RoD]: When did you get your first tattoo and what was it? How long did it take you to decide to get it?
Chris: Wow I wish I remembered when that was. I think that was exactly twelve years ago. I’ve been wanting to do that for much longer. But then, as I made up my mind, it took me three months to decide, where and what exactly that tattoo would be.

SalRamazzini BrunoRagolia titleToday our heroes are talented and friendly guys from the rapidly gaining popularity in Ukraine and abroad band THE GITAS. Sal Ramazzini (bass) and Bruno Ragolia (drums) shared with us their thoughts about tattoos.

RoD: First of all, thank u very much guys for your time. We are very happy to see you and we are very happy that you will be also a part of our tattoo project about which I have told you so much. Let’s start! When did you get your first tattoo and what was it? How long did it take you to decide to get it?
Sal Ramazzini [Sal]
: So my first tattoo I got three years ago. It’s Ganesha. Are you familiar with Ganesha?

NikolasEckstein introOur search for new interesting artists is going on. Our guest today is Nikolas Eckstein from Goth Rock, Darkwave band WISBORG from Hanover. In April this year, the band has released a new album, ‘The Tragedy Of Seconds Gone’, at Danse Macabre Records and currently working on new release. And in December you will have the possibility to see all this tattoos about you will read here today live, because WISBORG is going on tour together with VIRGIN IN VEIL, THE SPIRITUAL BAT and ASTARI NIGHT.

Reflections of Darkness [RoD]: When did you get your first tattoo and what was it? Did it take much time until you decided to get it done?
Nikolas: I was 18 when I got my first Tattoo, it’s the ankh of the ‘Vampire: The Masquerade’ RPG. Kinda nerdy, but at that time I was totally into that stuff; vampires, video games, role-playing games and so on. The love for video games is still existent and manifests in another tattoo I got around 10 years later as well. The decision was very spontaneous, I just thought it’d be pretty cool. I wouldn’t get it today, but as with every tattoo I have I never felt sorry for getting it. It’s a part of my history and represents that specific time for me.

specki in extremo 0001 introThe interview that I would like to share with you today was not planned, which made it all the more interesting. I had the opportunity to talk to Specki T.D about his tattoos last December, while IN EXTREMO was on tour... And I must confess, he shared some very interesting thoughts. Take a look at our conversation and see for yourselves...

Reflections of Darkness [RoD]: The first question is actually a more general one. I started this project because I consider tattoos a form of art. How do you perceive them? Are they a form of art? A way to remember things that are important to you? Or do you just associate them with something?
Specki: Yes, you have already mentioned the two important things, art and memories. But the thing that is most important to me as far as tattoos are concerned, is that I practically want to hold on to a point in time, to remember how I felt at that moment. And when I said that I was ready to get that tattoo, I knew I wanted to seal what I was thinking at that time, what my attitude to life was, how I felt and what I liked. Fashion is still a big aspect of tattoos, but I did not get them to make a fashion statement, and they are not based on any fashion trends, their primary purpose is to document various points in time. To seal certain things. And then you see how tattoo trends change: tattoos that will be in style in a couple of years will be different from what we think. And then people think to themselves: for God’s sake it’s a Tribal! For God’s sake, he’s got a tattoo on his lower back - that’s kind of odd. They do not want to have such tattoos these days and don’t want to demonstrate them. But the good thing about tattoos is that they are for life. And yes, they should stay that way.
lenascissorhandsToday’s heroine is the woman on vocals of the Nu-Metal band from Moldova, INFECTED RAIN, the charming Lena Scissorhands, with whom we managed to communicate in the framework of the Festival Faine Misto 2018 in Ternopyl.

Reflections of Darkness [RoD]: I would like to ask a couple of questions about the festival first, since we are here at the Faine Misto. How do you like the atmosphere? You already played before in Ukraine?
Lena: Of course. In fact, we used to play much more often. Because we are neighbours and the first countries that we visited were Romania and Ukraine. Then they slowly began to invite us to Europe, and further and further. Sometimes they invite so far that you have to go just for days. But recently it happens that we visit a little less often, not only Ukraine, but also Russia, and near territories. It’s not our fault, it just coincided, we are at the wheel, we work ourselves, and no one helps us. We do not make exceptions, we like to go and play everywhere. In fact, Ukraine has always treated us with an open mind and with a good heart. We are very pleased to play today on stage. It was awesome. I did not want to leave the stage!
