This time our project has brought us to Sweden - to Jonas Olofsson from VANGUARD. The band is playing alternative electronic music and you maybe already have seen the guys on some German festivals. On March 8, 2019 the band has released their album ‘Manifest’. But of course, today we will not talk about their music, but about tattoos…Reflections of Darkness [RoD]: When did you get your first tattoo and what was it? Did it take much time until you decided to get it done?
Jonas: It was a couple of years back and it was the logo for the band. I figured the music and this band is something I will always be proud of and carry with me for the rest of my life. Besides, it’s a pretty good spot for making promotion for the band.

Devi Hisgen is guitar player of the storytelling Psychedelic Metal formation CTHULUMINATI from the Netherlands. I found the word which is behind the band name play very interesting and funny, basically it’s a combination of Lovecraft’s Cthulhu and The Illuminati. On 18th of May 2019, the band has released their album ‘Reliqideus’. If you want to listen more of this band and see them live, you can use the opportunity on 3rd October in Den Haag where they will play Festerfest 2020. But now, we talk about tattoos.

My biggest wish for this project was that we have the participants from all countries and continents around the world. Today I am a one step closer to this. Dennis Abrahams is drummer from HERESY, a band from Costa Rica. As the band writes about themselves: “Profane Metal from the veins of Latin America.” The band was formed in 2011 and has visited around 26 countries and played with very big bands on one stage. On the 9th May 2020, the band has released their first live album ‘Aquelarre - Heredia en vivo’. So, I am very happy that Dennis has found time for me to speak about his amazing tattoos. - Details

Chris Dougherty is vocalist and guitar player of the young Metalcore, Screamo, Punk, Rock, Metal band WORLD HELD HOSTAGE from Stockport / Manchester. The band was founded in 2019 but the guys have already released a single, ‘Bunker Zero’, and made the video for it. Now, the band is working on the first album, ‘The Collapse’; the cover to it was already presented on the band’s Facebook page. Chris’ story is not ordinary, as his band’s is too, so let’s look in it. Reflections of Darkness [RoD]: When did you get your first tattoo and what was it? Did it take much time until you decided to get it done?
Chris: I actually don’t remember getting my first tattoo. Due to some unfortunate circumstances I lost 26 years of memory which is a whole story in itself. I do know though that my first tattoo was the Wyvern on my chest. According to my brother I got it when I was 19 as a birthday present to myself. As for the why I can only speculate.

Our today’s guest comes from wonderful Athens in Greece. Billy Vass is singer and songwriter of progressive Heavy Metal band TERRA INCOGNITA. In 2018/2019 came the second album of this band, ‘Fragments of a Ruined Mind’. This year, the band has made an amazing adaptation of the song ‘Stranger’ from George Dalaras. But we have of course spoken not about music but about tattoos.
