Nowadays with the current situation, when all events are cancelled, musicians and listeners stay at home and miss the crowdy events, their audience and energy from being on stage or in front of the stage, there is nothing left to do but watch the performances of your beloved and not so famous and not very performers through the monitor. Different musicians and organizers have found different solutions. During world quarantine and lockdown, the concept of “online concerts” became more and more popular. More precisely, the concept has already existed before, but now it has sparkled with new colours. Musicians who never did performances in front of the camera at home, began to turn it on more often and not only perform, but also communicate with their audience live, answering questions and performing their songs on request.- Details

2019 has somehow become the year of Dark Folk in Chamber genres of the dark scene. I would not say that there was a bunch of albums in this particular genre, but almost all the Dark Folk albums that were out turned to be interesting and high quality. Neoclassical musicians released interesting, but ordinary works. The abundance of Italian projects this year has been replaced by Russian bands, who have often visited the top 10 Chamber dark scenes, but this year have taken a third part. Emotional performances, beautiful airy tunes, atmospheric compositions. All this will be in the top 10 of Chamber dark scene in 2019.- Details

The Industrial scene, as always, is ambiguous. On one hand there is a lot of similar releases with material sounding the same created at home on the computer wrapping essentially empty material in a beautiful conceptual wrapper. And on the other hand, many Industrial projects, both old and respected and young promising, are trying to create something unique and inimitable that no one has done before. From time to time it turns out so well that they could easily break into the top of, let say, Synth scene with that same album. In the Industrial scene you can find brilliant albums even nowadays, when, it would seem, everything has already been created and re-invented, but in order to find them, you need to listen to a bunch of mediocre ordinary product.- Details

Our virtual travel goes on. Our today’s guest is Killian Power from Sweden. Hi is the voice of metal band DEMOTIONAL. The last release of the band is already a few years in the past in 2017, the album ‘Discovery’. But pretty soon we can expect a new album and I am really excited about it. But for now, let us speak about tattoos.Reflections of Darkness [RoD]: When did you get your first tattoo and what was it? Did it take much time until you decided to get it done?
Killian: I think I was 18 years old. I got a tribal sun on my chest by the heart. I liked the idea of having sunshine close to my heart. And soon after that I also got my first “real” tattoo, a huge tribal tattoo on my left arm. This one is pretty unique since it has a special kind if brown colour in it that that only comes from one place here in Sweden.
