Album Review
MDM is a band from Canada. From its chrysalis stage as a two-man project in the late nineties, MDM has developed into a full-scale five-piece live machine. The project has taken on its own life form shaping and sculpting its own sound through the influences of the various members. This sound ranges from hard aggressive techno to more ambient and delicate soundscapes to allow the listener to travel along with the band as each album progresses.
The album itself consists of eleven tracks; the whole playing time is 53:43. The sound is characterized by up-beat tempo with a high bpm (beats per minute) rate, pushing rhythms, catchy melodies, strong vocals and voice samples. Altogether it is a good fusion of guitars and industrial elements. My favourites are the opener ‘Das ist Krieg’ and ‘Silence & Pressure’, both songs are well danceable and rousing. Another song to mention is definitely the SKINNY PUPPY cover ‘Smothered Hope’.
