21st August 2014
Imagine Dragons, Nico Vega & Georg auf Lieder
The weather for today was not that autumnal as expected and the sun was shining bright on the beautiful medieval masonry. With over 5,000 fans the show was sold out and the masses were waiting in front of the citadel. 5:30 PM the doors open and some of the fans ran to their places at the first row. It was a nice festival feeling because it wasn't not dark yet. There were very young people possibly because IMAGINE DRAGONS is very famous for the song ‘Radioactive’ which was also used for a TV advertisement of the computer game ‘Asssasin's Creed III’.

Blink-182 & Zebrahead
BLINK-182 are back! After the re-union in 2009, the 6th album of US Punk Rockers, ‘Neighborhoods‘, was released in September 2011. After world-wide hits like ‘All the small Things’ or ‘I miss you’, the new album goes more a progressive way. Marc, Tom and Travis developed further and sound now much more experimental. This year, the band is playing several festivals and in-between, there are also a few concerts planned, one of them in Dortmund, where about 7,000 fans gathered to see their stars.

Combichrist, Aesthetic Perfection
With the release of the latest album ‘We Love You’ COMBICHRIST took another step further from the Hardcore EBM it once started with. For some it feels like the band becomes even more commercialized than before, for other it feels like a step forwards to a new sound. One thing is for sure, COMBICHRIST didn’t make another album like ‘Everybody Hates You’ or ‘We Are All Demons’, although it is as aggressive as before. But it shows more variation than all the previous work together. Now it combines EBM with punk metal, so the question remains: how will COMBICHRIST perform live. And off course: do they play live?

Schöngeist
About a week ago in Munich there ended the traditional Free & Easy festival and judging by its name one can guess that it’s really free and rather easy allowing people to have a good time and enjoy good music for 17 days. Yes, that sounds cool but we’d better focus on one day and even on one show to give you a brief idea what it looked like without extra useless information. So on a rainy Thursday all fans of heavy riffs, great sound and gothic atmosphere could see three different bands on one stage. VLAD IN TEARS that opened the whole thing turned out to be an interesting project with high quality metal music which sometimes reminded me of BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE. The musicians had made an excellent show and in general produced a fairly good impression.
