9th to 10th August 2008
M’era Luna Festival Day 1 Main Stage: Delain, Elis, Rabenschrey, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Mesh, Tanzwut, Unheilig, ASP, VNV Nation, Front 242
Since its beginnings in 2000, the festival has constantly grown and has become a fixed institution in the Wave and Gothic scene. And it is considered the biggest European festival for that scene. The festival lures about 25,000 and counting fans a year to celebrate a melancholic weekend. A fashionable outfit with a touch of middle-age in combination with lacquer and leather is as popular as black colour or if necessary white. The most fans show themselves in the same individual and artificial way like the artists on stage. Bands from all over Europe come to the festival and for most of them it’s not the first time, they’re performing at the M’era Luna.

The Crüxshadows, Akanoid
There wasn't much time to write a new album for the CRÜXSHADOWS. Violin player Rachel left the CRÜXSHADOWS to marry her boyfriend Harry and didn't want to go on tour again; the same with guitarist George and dancer Sarah. Rogue and Jessica made the big promise as well. After all these marriages and band separations, there had to be found new band members. So there's no new CD, but a new single called 'Immortal' which was released in July this year. How can you introduce new band members better than live on stage? The CRÜXSHADOWS started to tour again with one new song and four new members. After a few European gigs and festival performances they arrived in Essen.

Rock Harz Day 2: Neaera, Knorkator, Turisas, Haggard, Atrocity and Saltatio Mortis
Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to the first day, so we had to start at the second day. The weather was horrible. It was raining all the time and it was cold. But we didn’t care because bands like TURISAS, HAGGARD and ATROCITY stood on the plan for today.

Rock Harz Day 3: Lacrimas Profundere, Maroon, Secrets of the Moon, Amon Amarth, Eisbrecher and Within Temptation
After a cold and rainy night, we headed to the last day of this year’s Rock Harz Festival. Since the whole organization was not perfect, the buses didn’t drive all the time and so sometimes it was kind of difficult to get to the festival ground but we still made it to awesome bands like AMON AMARTH and WITHIN TEMPTATION.

Rock unter den Eichen: Löschzug 23, Tarabas, Blackest Dawn, Nachtgeschrei and Letzte Instanz
After an hour of driving, we finally arrived at Bertingen in the middle of nowhere. We went to the festival area and saw that the stage was pretty small and we were excited to see how the concerts would be. Since bands like NACHTGESCHREI and LETZTE INSTANZ were going to perform, it was promised to be a great night that day.
