Almost 2 months ago, we celebrated the best Amphi Festival to-date in 8 years history. The more the anticipation increases for next year, when we all meet again for another edition on 20. & 21. July 2013. The line-up confirmed up so far already provides a massive variety and interesting artists. As multi-layered as the line-up started, it continues to build with even more fresh acts from the electronic, mediaeval, rock and classic genre.
ICON OF COIL, STAHLMANN, SOLITARY EXPERIMENTS AND MANY THEATER-ACTS CONFIRMED!
Opening today´s round of announcements, we start out with an absolute cult band. Long before Andy LaPlegua turned into Combichrist, he shared huge success with Sebastian Komor und Christian Lund as founder and frontman of the Norwegian electropop-formation ICON OF COIL. On the peak of their success, with their latest album „Machines Are Us“, the band took a time off and concerts became highly anticipated gems, while LaPleguas alter ego „Combichrist“ started it´s worldwide triumph! The more excited we are to have won ICON OF COIL for a live show at Amphi Festival 2013.
Furthermore the industrial-rockers STAHLMANN are gearing up for their first Amphi Festival appearance. Currently on tour with their latest Album “Quecksilber (Quicksilver)“ the band from Göttingen incarnates the present spirit of the German dark rock scene, wrapped in an enthralling live-performance. As a strong capacity on the electronic dancefloor, SOLITARY EXPERIMENTS also join 2013´s line-up. Originating from Berlin, they return to the Tanzbrunnen after their celebrated Amphi debut in 2010, to set-off another dance extravaganza.
Over these three announcements we shall not forget about our daytime theater programme. Along with the recently confirmed Rome, we signed the dark-wave legend ESCAPE WITH ROMEO, the mediaeval formation DUNKELSCHÖN with an acoustic-show, pianist Lars Arnold with a new edition of his classic programme CLASSIC & DEPECHE as well as Kirlian Camera singer Elena Alice Fossi, appearing with the acoustic project ALICE NEVE FOX. Of course you should not miss our highly-respected Forensic expert DR. MARK BENECKE who shares interesting insights to the world of crime scene examinations and states of decay.
Finally we have another wonderful entry, joining us from France. Armed with spectacular instruments, like the mechanic drum-set „BAM“ or their church-bell organ ROSA CRVX, without a doubt, count to the most fascinating formationsour French neighbors and the gothic scene in general have brought forth. Brace yourself for an astounding musical journey between dark-wave, mediaeval and neoclassic sounds! ROSA CRVX are an absolutely unique experience! With the Theater stage almost completed, we are looking forward to the another exciting announcement, including a headliner for 2013 at the end of October.
