SONATA ARCTICA have just started recording their new album. Here you can find the first part of a studio diary with some information about the recordings, posted by Henkka:“I'll tell you a little bit about where we are with the album for those of you being curious. I went to Kemi last week (29.11.) to check out what was happening and to pick up the basic tracks for my overdubs. At that point Tommy had already played all the drums, Jani had laid down demo-guitars, and some of the bass-tracks have also been ready. In addition to this there was a whole bunch of singing and keys on there by Tony, so I got a pretty good idea about how things seem to shape up. I `ve hanging around the Tico-Tico Studio for a couple of days, listening to the songs and Marko playing bass. Anyway, yesterday Tony came down to Kokkola and we headed out to my friend's studio (Studio 57, which is basically in the woods) with a wild bunch of string players, just to jam around a bit.

AMORPHIS' guitar player Esa Holopainen has posted the following update on the band's official website www.amorphis.net: "It's been a really hectic year in the AMORPHIS-camp, and at the same time one of the best ones in our career. We released “Eclipse”, the first album with Mr. Joutsen on vocals, in spring and all the response from album and shows have been great. We ´ve really won back the mood, from which I honestly thought that we lost years back. Big thanks to Tomi and his inspiration to all of us. With “Eclipse” we have opened new era in our career, and yes, we are still together with this lineup.- DIARY OF DREAMS - Studio update, dates and more
