Skinny Puppy CD almost complete; set for January followed by tour
The next Skinny Puppy album will be released on January 29, according to their record label SPV. Skinny Puppy says they and Ken Marshall have about one third of the mixing left. Longtime collaborator Steven R Gilmore is designing the cover. It's Skinny Puppy's intention to go on a large tour after the album release. They also say: "There has been some talk of a secret live show coming up on Halloween. Can't deny that." A "Vault 2" limited edition series is apparently on its way to, with "a few gems" including a new Download LP as soon as this autumn. The Skinny Puppy production crew has also started Scaremeister - a new company that will focus on scoring, sound design, music licensing and remixes.

Diary Of Dreams "nine in numbers":It has been a long wait, but finally, here it is – the long expected live DVD “nine in numbers” will hit the shops on November 10, 2006. Apart from the concert footage from Magdeburg, it also contains an interview and some backstage insights and tour life snippets. If you don’t want to wait until the official release date, you can buy the first DoD live visual at one of the release parties taking place in early November. We can already unveil some more details for these events:
The band will be around and will present a DJ set, the DVD will be shown for the first time and you’ll have the chance to ask for autographs or buy the DVD and other fan related items at our merchandise stall.

HIM have announced the cancellation of their fall tour. The band will not be playing scheduled U.S. shows in favor of entering the recording studio (see canceled dates below).HIM hope fans will not be let down, but rather will look forward to seeing them back on the road with new songs to share. The band have been steadily writing material for their forthcoming album and are eager to start preliminary rehearsal of very early tracks. HIM have not been able to test any new material due to their busy touring and promotion schedule. This fall will be the first opportunity for the band members to talk and work out new HIM material for a 2007 release!

The Swedish clothing chain H&M is using a version with a string arrangement of Depeche Mode's "Just can't get enough" in their new fall TV ads. Unlike previous try-outs with classical arrangements, this version (by Nathan Larson) is actually pretty good. Without any doubt the viral impact of the TV ad will now do its work. After the death of the Elis frontwoman Sabine Dünser, aged 29 on Friday 7th 2006 it was unsure that Elis would continue as a band. But Side-Line was now contacted with the request to launch the news that Elis is looking for a new singer. Following qualities are needed: "Versatile and dynamic voice, it doesn't matter if it's trained or not, you only have to carry a tune. Good English and German articulation. A professional attitude, self-confidence, charisma, good looking and an awesome stage presence are also an advantage as much as experience in song writing." The late Elis frontwoman suffered a cerebral haemorrhage (editorial's note: a cerebral bleeding) during rehearsals with the band and died a day later in a hospital.
