White Lies & special guest: Charming Liars
WHITE LIES are a band always looking ahead - always intent on advancing their career as a band in London’s post-punk scene. Two years ago, Jack Brown (drums), Charles Cave (bass) and Harry McVeigh (vocals / guitar) took a look back at their band history and celebrated the 10th anniversary of their debut ‘To Lose My Life’. With their debut album, the band catapulted to number one in the UK charts in 2009 and secured status as the most successful newcomer of the year.

We are definitely living in strange and challenging times. Pandemic isolation, recession and inflation, the war in Ukraine, all socio-economic implications and emotional burdens that go with it make it very hard to find joy and motivation to carry on. Music has always been a particularly comforting force, a source of energy and inspiration to tackle everyday problems. Even though it will definitely not resolve all of the issues, it offers a spark needed to find the inner strength to face everything around.

With their soulful melodies, driving rhythms, edgy guitars and dark, cinematic electronics, TRAITRS have quickly become one of modern post-punk’s fastest-rising independent bands. TRAITRS, consisting of Sean-Patrick Nolan and Shawn Tucker, formed in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the summer of 2015. The duo recorded demos with producer / engineer Josh Korody (NAILBITER, F*CKED UP, JAPANDROIDS, DILLY DALLY), caught the attention of Pleasence Records label boss James Lindsay, and released their debut cassette, ‘Rites And Ritual’, in April 2016.
