LIFE OF AGONY emerged from the New York music scene in the early 90s with one of the most distinctive sounds in its genre. Best known for its 1993 Metal/ Crossover debut, ‘River Runs Red’ (Roadrunner Records), named by Rolling Stone as being one of the “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time” the band instantly built a die-hard, cult following. For over two decades, the group toured relentlessly all over the world, sharing stages with the biggest names in rock, including Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Foo Fighters, and THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. LOA went onto release two more studio albums for Roadrunner: ‘Ugly’ (95) and ‘Soul Searching Sun’ (97), before signing to major label Sony/ Epic Records in 2005 to record ‘Broken Valley’ with producer Greg Fidelman (SLIPKNOT, METALLICA). LIFE OF AGONY has sold over one million albums to date.

While the Indoor-Gothic Festival PLAGE NOIRE 2019 was still in full swing, the highly successful pre-sale for the follow-up edition, which will take place on 24 and 25 April 2020 in the holiday and leisure park Weissenhäuser Strand, started. For example, almost all tickets including two nights have been sold at the moment, although it has not yet been announced which music acts are expected on the Baltic Sea. Now the first eleven names are fixed and should ensure that the remaining card contingent will quickly find its buyers.

On the 16 and 17 August, the sister festivals Hammaburg Fest & Elbriot Festival with bands like SISTERS OF MERCY, LIFE OF AGONY (Hammaburg Fest), IN FLAMES or AIRBOURNE (Elbriot Festival) will take place on the Hamburg Grossmarkt. For the time being, however, Metal fans will make a pilgrimage to the music events in the middle of the city center this year for the last time. Due to construction projects in the area of the Grossmarkt and the future continuous use of the Mehr Theater with the theater production “Harry Potter und das verwunschene Kind”, the festivals can unfortunately no longer take place as usual.
