Get prepared for some metal thrashing made in Holland. For the Black Metal aficionados amongst you, they also have something new in stock with ANGMAR, who are no dark horse in the Black Metal underground anymore, and who will celebrate their German debut on the festival. ULTRAVOX is a British New Wave band who rose to big fame end of the 70s / beginning of the 80s. They were amongst the pioneers of the British Electro Pop movement of the early 80s. The band split up eventually following Midge Ure’s departure in 1985. In 2008, Warren Cann, Chris Cross, Billy Currie and Midge Ure reformed ULTRAVOX to tour under the title “Return to Eden” in 2009 / 2010. It’s the first time that the band plays in its original line-up since the legendary Live Aid in 1985. The timing is almost perfect as their super hit ‘Vienna’ celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2009. So, ULTRAVOX are back and one thing’s very important to them “We are playing everything live!” Neither a CD-Player nor a tape will be on stage. If the keys won’t be hit, there won’t be a sound whatsoever. The band is full of energy and pure joy about the music.

Early next year a new epic of Tobias Sammet's Avantasia project will be released in two chapters: "The Wicked Symphony" and "Angel Of Babylon". Tobias is in the studio right now, working with producer Sascha Paeth on this new Rock Opera. Starring musicians like Klaus Meine (Scorpions), Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest), Michael Kiske (ex-Helloween), Jorn Lande (Masterplan), Bob Catley (Magnum), Russell Allen (Symphony X), Eric Singer (KISS), Felix Bohnke (Edguy), Alex Holzwarth (Rhapsody) and new contribution comes from ' the master on keyboards' Jens Johansson (Stratovarius). - Details

Steven Wilson recently played keyboards and mixed the fourth album by Israeli progressive metal band ORPHANED LAND. For those who have never heard the band, they are perhaps best described as what Opeth might sound like if they had come from the Middle East instead of Scandanavia. The music has a similar scope and degree of layered sophistication. But the sound of Orphaned Land is very much inspired by their roots, sung in English, Hebrew and Arabic, and featuring many traditional middle eastern instruments. The album 'The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR' is an ambitious and impressive 75 minute conceptual piece combining heavy music and breathtaking beauty.
