Amorphis “Eclipse 10th Anniversary Show” & Long Distance Calling
More than ten years ago, AMORPHIS released the ‘Eclipse’ album. This album was the beginning of a new era in the band’s history, because it was the first album with the new singer Tomi Joutsen, an album full of timeless songs. The circumstances under which the album was recorded were completely different from his predecessor, far from the sun. The new high talented front man with his energy was a motivation for the band.
“We had a lot of fun and felt a great inspiration when we were working on the new music and playing it at rehearsals. I think ‘Eclipse’ is pretty much to the point of what AMORPHIS stand for today and what we have become known for. The album also provided a great foundation for his followers ‘Silent Waters’ and ‘Skyforger’. Travis Smith’s artwork is stunning - his cover art unites the music and the lyrics absolutely perfect. ‘Eclipse’ is still an important symbol for us today. Now it's time to celebrate this album with our friends and fans. We will play ‘Eclipse’ in its full length. I do not think I need to explain that these shows will be very special. We will also play songs from the ‘Silent Waters’ and ‘Skyforger’ era. Tracks that we have not often played live.” (Statement by Esa Holopainen / AMORPHIS)
