Maschina Wremeni - “Best Songs”
It's hard to believe, but the band MASCHINA WREMENI has existed since 1969. And today they are not guys who gather a couple of times in 10 years to remind about themselves, but quite a functional and regularly performing band. It is a fact, the rockers led by Andrei Makarevich are one of the oldest existing bands in the post-Soviet space. The genres in which the music is written and performed are predominantly Classic Rock, Rock’n’Roll, and Blues. Of course, there are also experiments.
Their anniversary - 50 years - the band celebrated back in 2019, and it was on this occasion that a big world tour was planned. Due to circumstances, in particular restrictions due to COVID-19, the trip had to be postponed for almost four years. But now the “Best Songs” tour is sure to happen. The songs of the legendary band taught to live and not to give up, not to be afraid of anyone and anything, and for several generations. It is interesting, but at concerts you can always meet people of different generations - from peers of the musicians themselves to admirers of talent, who are as old as their grandchildren. For many people going to a concert of MASCHINA WREMENI is a chance to remember the past, to plunge into the times of carefree youth. For some people Makarevich’s songs are a part of their life, and their fan “experience”, if I may say so, is almost equal to the period of the band’s existence.
MASCHINA WREMENI will perform their hits in five cities in Germany, such songs as ‘Povorot’, ‘Za tekh kto v more’, ‘Sinyaya ptitsa’, ‘Marionetki’, ‘Koster’ or ‘Ty i ya’. You will also hear many other hits and new singles. You will definitely be charged with sincerity and musicality.
The most famous representative of the band MASCHINA WREMENI is Andrei Makarevich, many even claim that this musician is the personification of the collective. Yes, he is the leader, the author of most songs and music. But Rock is a style that is not played alone, you need comrades-in-arms and like-minded people. In the current line-up from the first remained only Makarevich. Besides him on stage you can see Alexander Kutikov (bass guitar, vocals, songwriter), Valery Efremov (drums). Both became a permanent part of the band since 1979, that is, they too can be confidently called veterans of the team. Besides, there are so-called session musicians: Alexander Ditkovsky, Igor Khomich, Alexander Levochkin, Kirill Ipatov.
Many performances of Rock bands, and in general any groups that are 50+ years old, look more like concerts of songs of long-forgotten years. In general, the teams at such an honourable age do not create anything new. The secret of fast sales of all tickets of MASCHINA WREMENI is a large amount of new material. And it is as pleasant to listen to it as the well-known hits. Music on the day’s evil from the lips of such famous and legendary performers is a special pleasure. Good sound, deep meaning, and an unforgettable mood. MASCHINA WREMENI - people who not only wrote and sang the lines “...we should not bend under the changing world, let it better bend under us...” - They’ve been living with it since the very beginning of their creation. This is the band that never followed the crowd.
