“The Future Is Cancelled” - or is it? One thing is certain: Germany’s Indie Rock quintet GIANT ROOKS are finally returning to the road in 2026 with brand-new music.
Following a year filled with career highlights, GIANT ROOKS have made their comeback with their latest single, ‘The Future Is Cancelled’. Built around delicate piano melodies and soulful vocals, the track unfolds with a calm and introspective atmosphere. Both thought-provoking and comforting, the song demonstrates the band’s willingness to continue exploring new musical territory while staying true to the sound that has defined them from the very beginning.
After releasing their second studio album, ‘How Have You Been?’, in 2024 - which debuted at No. 1 on the German album charts - and completing the highly successful tour of the same name, the five-piece stepped away from the spotlight in 2025 to focus on writing new material.
In September, the band returned for two exclusive headline shows in Germany, performing completely sold-out homecoming concerts in their hometown of Hamm. Surrounded by 20,000 fans, friends, and family, GIANT ROOKS celebrated an emotional weekend that perfectly balanced melancholy and euphoria. Once again, they proved the incredible live energy that has carried them from a small town in Westphalia to audiences all around the world.
