The Smashing Pumpkins
Billy Corgan, James Iha, D’arcy Wretzy and Jimmy Chamberlin. In this line-up, The Smashing Pumpkins built their worldwide fame, reaching top status with the album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. They were the absolute creme de la creme of the 90s’ alternative rock music, mastering the combination of artistic integrity and worldwide success. After the follow-up album Adore, bassist D’Arcy left the band and was replaced by former Hole-member Melissa Auf Der Mauer, who was featured on the album Machina/The Machines of God, the last album of The Smashing Pumpkins.
In 2000, The Smashing Pumpkins were no more. Six years later however, the band announced reunification. In 2007 they released a new album, called Zeitgeist, accompanied by a tour. At the end of January, The Smashing Pumpkins will start the last part of their tour, starting in Prague. On February 23rd, they will visit Berlin. Original members Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin are accompanied by new Pumpkins Jeff Schroeder, Ginger Reyes, and Lisa Harriton. Berlin ist gespannt! (=looking forward to their visit!)
