On February 12, 2016, a volume of verse entitled “Die sternenferne Welt” (transl. “The Star Distant World”) by Sascha Blach alias Alexander Paul Blake, frontman of the band EDEN WEINT IM GRAB and AETHERNAEUM, is going to be published. The book of poetry takes readers on a lyrical journey dealing with themes such as nature mysticism, art, love, lust, horror, death, and the cosmos. There's gloom, grotesque, and also humour in pieces called, for example, `Der Blechmann,´ `Weltallbaum,´ `Das Knochenkarussell,´ or `Im Heißluftballon zum Mond.´The 100 poems often came into being on travels, were written on the subway or during creative nights. They tell little stories and allow readers to zoom in on a variety of situations like a camera lens. They're snapshots that are cinematic and musical at the same time. At the borders of form and chaos, life and death, as well as darkness and light the book merges the ordinary into the metaphysical and Sascha Blach draws on literary eras such as romanticism, symbolism, and modernism. “Die sternenferne Welt” is the second volume of poems by the musician and author from Berlin. The book comes in a DinA5 format (14,8 x 21 cm) as a noble hardcover and will be available for 12.00€ in stores and the web shop of www.wintersolitude.de.
On February 12, the date of publication, the author will present his work at a darkly poetic live reading at Berlin's wonderful venue, the theARTer Gallery. Mikis Wesensbitter is also going to be there reading from his “Hört Franka eigentlich noch Black Metal? Teil 2” (transl. “Is Franka Still Listening to Black Metal? Part 2”), which is a road movie, love story, relationship guide, and thriller at the same time.
