flesh field onenmityFLESH FIELD release their stunning new album ‘On Enmity’ digitally today, on February 20, 2026. The US-Industrial act is taking their massive trademark sound into a new sonic dimension by subtly blending it with cinematic orchestral elements. A ltd. lavish 2CD artbook deluxe edition with bonus tracks will mark the album’s physical release on May 22, 2026.

Sonic darkness and a harsh musical experience have always been part and parcel of the industrial genre. FLESH FIELD are taking this a step further by adding cinematic orchestral elements to their distinctive sound.

On their sixth full length - counting in the self-released 2011 instrumental album ‘Tyranny of the Majority’ - the US-Industrial act displays a supreme mastery of their musical subject. A feeling of hard, cold fury permeates ‘On Enmity’, which is hardly surprising given the current state of the world and an artist who has achieved a master’s degree in international policy studies with a focus on counter terrorism. Thematically, mastermind Ian Ross circles back to his original themes as ‘On Enmity’ explores post-trauma and abuse as well as the perseverance to endure without relief or redemption.

These themes tie in with the name that Ross chose for his project when he formed the band in Columbus, Ohio, United States in 1996. FLESH FIELD denotes a non-medical term that Ross invented to describe the psychological defense mechanisms of rape victims.

Their debut album ‘Viral Extinction’ (1999) featured female vocalist Rian Miller and immediately hit the US CMJ RPM Charts and German Alternative Charts (DAC). The sophomore ‘Belief Control’ (2001) with new vocalist Wendy Yanko cemented the band’s excellent reputation and the following masterpiece ‘Strain’ (2004) even climbed to ‘4 in the German Alternative Charts, where it remained for 8 weeks. In the wake of this success, FLESH FIELD were invited and performed at the prestigious German M’era Luna Festival in the city of Hildesheim.

Despite this success story and fast rise, Ross announced the end of FLESH FIELD in 2011. Yet their musical legacy lived on. Their track ‘Beneath Contempt’ appeared in the HBO hit show ‘True Blood’. Next, ‘Uprising’ was chosen for the end credits of the original science fiction movie ‘The Mill’ (2023), all of which led to renewed interest in the band. In 2023, Ross resurrected FLESH FIELD and to the delight of all the loyal fans that had been clamouring for their return delivered another highly praised album with ‘Voice of the Echo Chamber’ the same year.

With ‘On Enmity’, FLESH FIELD take their trademark sound into the present and future. Whether hammering the album’s massive beats out on headphones or gladly giving in to magnetic pull towards the dance floor, ‘On Enmity’ presents the well matured and more experienced FLESH FIELD at their very best!
