Review Flash

US Prog rock gods ENCHANT are back! After ten years of abstinence (except for side projects as Leonard’s THOUGHT CHAMBER or his involvement with AFFECTOR and SPOCK`S BEARD) the band gave birth to ‘Tug of War’ follow-up ‘The Great Divide’. ENCHANT’s music is melody based as ever, complicated as much as the “normal” Prog listener can bear but catchy and wonderful and epic as always. My first encounter with this great band was as they were supporting SPOCK`S BEARD in the 90`s. At that point I really enjoyed their music but since the last THOUGHT CHAMBER record ‘Psykerion’ I fell in love with Ted Leonard’s voice and the overall melodic and convoluted approach to everything this guy does musically. My personal highlights on this record are: the opening song ‘Circles’, it is melodic Prog as its finest, ‘The great Divide’ is over an eight minutes long Prog rock epic. Also very mentionable is ‘Transparent Man’ that song is almost suitable for radio audiences.

Conclusion: All in all I am happy to have the opportunity to listen to ENCHANT`s new record ‘The Great Divide’ I will buy it as soon as I can and so should you, dear reader.
