Review Flash

Years ago when my brother mostly listened to bands like ORANGE GOBLIN, KYUSS, LOWRIDER and other bands that were big in the stoner scene at that time, I was not a fan as I could not wrap my head around stoner music (I only listened to Power Metal and US Metal at that time). Now 20 years later I get the appeal of heavy riffs and escaping overly melodic music. Don’t get me wrong, I love melodic stuff in all its varieties but sometimes I just want the riff. BOG WIZARD and DUST LORD totally know what it feels like to be in need of a heavy, thunderous and mighty riff and on this split EP named ‘Four Tales Of The Strange’ both bands contend with each other to ascertain who provides the heaviest. What I can say right away is that BOG WIZARD is more melodic and traditional when it comes to vocals, their riffs are less thunderous and deadly but more on the melodic and psychedelic side while DUST LORD is a bit rougher and heavier but lacking the clean vocals. Personally, I do favour BOG WIZARD over DUST LORD because I like the vocals better.

Conclusion: The upside of split EPs always is that you can check out two bands for the price of one and maybe you even dig both for what they are.
