ELECTRIC HAZE was formed in 2016 when Drummer Johan, Tommy the guitarist met the brothers André (bass) and his brother and vocalist Anton in Umeå. The band released a self-titled EP in 2016 after which they did hit the road for some time. In 2018 the guys started working on their debut full-length which I am enjoying right now. Musically this is typically Swedish, high quality contemporary Rock music with great melodies and an almost scary sense for atmosphere and limits or the lack of latter when it comes to composing and writing. ‘Cavern Of Pain’ is an instant hit, highly melodic yet chill and beautiful, a 100 percent pure Rock ballad. My second favourite track is ‘Too Close To The Truth’ which is some kind of a ballad but not as deep as ‘Cavern Of Pain’ but more variable and a bit more of a hymn just like a good 80s Rock song. There are similarities between ELECTRIC HAZE and THE HAWKINS when it comes to certain moments vocal-wise but Anton sounds more like a classic rock vocalist.
Conclusion: All in all, this is a very fine record with a few songs that hit home right away and a few ones that might grow to become close to my heart over time, just buy this because there is not a single cent wasted.
