2nd July 2016
Cyndi Lauper & Neil Thomas
Finally I had the chance to see the Pop icon of the 80’s live who is now touring with her new album ‘Detour‘. And I was really thrilled to find out about her live singing qualities, especially the old songs. Due to the soccer game on that evening the show was not sold out, respectively I heard that many people sold their tickets on short notice in order to watch soccer on TV.

The final festival day ranged from the brutal, over the medieval, to the symphonic presenting THE NEW BLACK, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, GOJIRA, ANTHRAX, APOCALYPTICA, IN EXTREMO, SLAYER, and NIGHTWISH. Such a mixed bag line-up allowed the indeed quite diverse Rock im Revier crowd to rock out with their favourite bands celebrating either trashy or more melodic tunes, or both.

Teho Teardo & Blixa Bargeld – Nerissimo Tour
Blixa Bargeld (57) is to most of us a living legend born in the underground Berlin music scene and part of the Dadaist movement. However, due to his low profile and experimental sprit, he isn’t so well known to everyone. His stage name "Blixa" stands for a German brand of blue felt pen, and “Bargeld” for the German word for "cash". He is best known for his amazing live performances and recordings with the bands EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN ("Collapsing New Buildings") from 1980 till present and NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS (1983-2003). His art is an evolving work in progress registered in over 35 studio albums (solo + bands + collaborations).
