20th October 2015
Chase the Ace & Michael Monroe & Hardcore Superstar
On October 20th, in the very heart of Frankfurt’s downtown and just a few steps away from the city’s busy shopping mile Zeil, we hit the ZOOM, a small club for both parties and occasional concerts, to witness the rock spectacle of this fall: the co-headlining tour of HARDCORE SUPERSTAR and the mighty MICHAEL MONROE, former singer of HANOI ROCKS. Support on this still ongoing tour is CHASE THE ACE from Tel Aviv.

26th October 2015
Sòlstafir, Mono, The Ocean
If it was up to me, we can make this a permanent thing: On October 26th, every second year, SÒLSTAFIR play a gig somewhere and I simply join in. Compared to a Helsinki show in 2013, the venue can be somewhat closer to home as, for example, Cologne this year. Although, there's actually nothing to sneeze at a short trip to an exciting part of Europe... However, unlike in the Finnish capital, at the river Rhine in Cologne I saved a trip to the local church and drove directly to the Live Music Hall, where on this Monday evening musical guests from Berlin (THE OCEAN), Tokyo (MONO), and SÒLSTAFIR from Reykjavik romped around. Aðalbjörn Tryggvason, the only remaining founding member, has made music with SÒLSTAFIR for twenty years now. Their tunes evolved over time from Viking Metal to incredible, atmospheric Post Metal. In 2002, guitarist Sæþór Maríus Sæþórsson and bassist Svavar Austman Traustaso became part of the band. A few months ago, drummer Guðmundur Óli Pálmason was also among them, however, not being of the party anymore he was replaced by a person unfamiliar to me.

Apocalyptica & Tracer
If you have ever seen APOCALYPTICA live on stage you know that their shows are real fun. It is crazy to see them bang their heads and shake their hair to metal songs while playing the cello. The tour along to the release of the band’s latest album, ‘Shadowmaker’, was originally planned for spring but was postponed to autumn. Finally, the time had come to see the band live in Cologne, where they were supported by Australian TRACER.

9th & 11th October 2015
Stahlmann
Time is flying really fast and about two weeks have passed since our “concert debut” in Russia. So after collecting all the pieces and thoughts I think the best word to describe the event will be “crazy”, totally crazy however in a good way, which even started with the first autumn snow. But let’s speak about everything in its turn. On the 9th and 11th of October, all Russian fans of good German music had a chance to enjoy live shows of gothic/ industrial metal band STAHLMANN. The support acts, namely LAUFDERZEIT in St. Petersburg and CHAOS RISING in Moscow also did their best to rock both venues and definitely deserve to be commended for good stuff and professionalism. The latter one also presented their debut album ‘Tief in mir’ with songs in Russian, German and English, actually worth listening to. But the most interesting part began afterwards and that was really the audience awaited.
