Autumn CD presentation - Autumn, Audacious
For this band from the north of The Netherlands, Amsterdam wasn’t the most logical place to officially present their third full length album ‘My new Time’. That’s why the next day they would repeat the party at the Iduna in Drachten. But tonight was the official presentation of the new album. Autumn has been around for 12 years already and is known for their progressive sounds whilst singing about old myths. One of the founding members, Meindert has written almost the entire first album, and it took him 5 tracks to tell the story of the Lady of Shallot. “My New Time’ is a new birth for Autumn. With new songwriters, new guitars and a new sound. After listening to the album I was curious to see this live.

Chumbawamba, Bettina Schelker
CHUMBAWAMBA are THE British Agit-Pop band par excellence. During their 25th jubilee tour, they also showed up at the Gleis22 in Münster. Anyone knows their danceable Indie hits ‘Timebomb’ or ‘Tubthumping’, but nearly no one knows their calmer side. Totally acoustic they presented their own songs as well as English Traditionals and Rebel songs. Support was the Swiss song writer Bettina Schelker.

Client - "Lights go out"-Tour, Nemo
The probably most seductive girl trio of Electro Pop was inviting you to a journey to the dark site of the city – to the place of unfulfilled dreams and anonymity, for forbidden lusts and sex. Visually very clever between fashion and fetish the three ladies of CLIENT play a very alluring game between distance and coolness – presented with breezy winking – also musically. Irresistible hook lines on a minimalist electro basement are combined with New Wave and Brit Pop. Additionally, you get a pinch of Glam Pop and some strokes of Northern Soul. CLIENT present a futuristic Pop epos with their new album ‘Heartland’ – comparably cool as emotional, glamorous and sexy. Feelings and longings of the audience can come to tailspin. On that Friday night in May, I had the pleasure to see those ladies again at the small club at the Kulturfabrik Krefeld where the evening was opened by the British band NEMO.

Kotipelto, Chris Caffery, Elis, Triosphere
Sometimes moments make you realize that life isn’t that predictable. Respectful, famous artists are not the guarantee that a package will sell out. In the case of Kotipelto there was a promoter who ‘forgot’ to do his job well. Unexpected Weert was the last day of the tour, so the bands were sad, but on the other hand is was the most relaxing gig you can imagine: it wasn’t crowded so there was all the time to make jokes and slow down a bit. The beautiful location in the woods and the sun helped with that.
