Anneke van Giersbergen - “Darkest Skies Acoustic Tour”
Her fans experienced an intimate concert in a special setting. ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN is touring Europe with eighteen shows to present her current album ‘The Darkest Skies Are The Brightest’ completely acoustically. Her new album has garnered an enthusiastic response from fans and critics alike and opens a new chapter in Anneke’s impressive career. The concert was very intimate. There was no support act, the stage setting was very sparce and in the audience area were beer benches and bar tables placed.

Leaving the train station in Leipzig I heard several people around me speaking Russian or Ukrainian - I must admit I don’t know the differences between those two languages. They both sound very similar to me. According to official numbers there are 43,000 refugees from Ukraine in the federal state of saxony at the time. However, actual figures might be higher because many refugees stay in private accommodation before they register with the local authorities.

The Sisters Of Mercy & Support: Hugs Of The Sky
Last time we saw THE SISTERS OF MERCY live at Tonhalle in Munich, the gig had been sold-out for months and the venue was packed to the roof and turned into the sauna, when the SISTERS hit the stage. One pandemic later, Tonhalle was not sold out but the band’s dedicated fans still filled the venue and many were spotted buying a ticket at the door.

Black Doldrums
One of the most endearing things about BLACK DOLDRUMS is they really have no idea just how good they are. Close your eyes, at any point during the set tonight, and this tiny venue with a mere scattering of people, can suddenly be somewhere vast, and the whole experience something epic.
