BONFIRE is an old German Hard Rock band, starting their career already in the 1970s as CACUMEN, changing their name to BONFIRE not before 1986. Not less than 12 albums and countless other releases are part of their catalogue today. On 21st May, they're going to add another, at least for Germany, special piece with a rock version of the German national anthem. Maybe as a counterpart to that, which is still played on a couple radio stations, or simply to add a modern twist. The song's also included as a ballad at a slower pace and with a bit more acoustic flavour, and an instrumental take. Not that I had needed a new version of the national anthem, but it's still nice to see someone's giving it some thought on how to make it attractive for different crowds.
