21st November 2008
Bullet for my Valentine, Lacuna Coil, Bleeding Through
It could have been all so easy that day, but the weather god had other plans and sent an incredible storm that caused nothing but chaos, trains broke down, train stations had to be closed and it would have been absolutely impossible for me to attend the concert if it wasn’t for a very kind friend, especially taking a detour to pick me up at a train station, but we still were on schedule for the concert. Actually we had more time than expected as two bands were announced not to appear…

20th November 2008
The Subways, Blackmarket, Trip Fontaine
Very happy-go-lucky, THE SUBWAYS present garage rock in its best. After the album ‘Young for Eternity’, the band lately released a second album ‘All or Nothing’. After I had seen the band at Area4 festival in summer and was totally impressed by the power three people brought to the big stage, one thing was sure: I would see them again in the clubs. On 20th November it was my time, when THE SUBWAYS played in my town, supported by BLACKMARKET and TRIP FONTAINE.

Ray Wilson & Stiltskin
First of all Ray Wilson is well known as the singer of STILTSKIN who got already their breakthrough in the early 90's with ‘Inside’, the song that was used for an advertisement clip of Levis. Ray joined GENESIS for a short time in 1997, did solo stuff and reformed STILTSKIN. A man with a voice that you recognized at once under thousands and that makes you shiver, because he knows how to use it and his musical talent. After the astonishing STILTSKIN comeback in 2006 with the album ‘She’, Ray Wilson & STILTSKIN came to present the new album ‘Propaganda Man’ again to Germany. First and last time I saw STILTSKIN was in 1996 on the Gurtenfestival in Switzerland and now I stood in the Zeche after so many years just to see that nothing changed. There's still the same magic in the air, four great musicians who know exactly how to catch people and took us with them on this musical journey.

Oomph!, All Ends, Mina Harker
With both their current single ‘Labyrinth’ and their new album ‘Monster’ placed at number 1 in the German Alternative Chart it’s not surprising that everyone still has the name Oomph on their lips nearly twenty years after they were first formed. Founded in 1989, Oomph have happily blended their many musical styles, evolved in new and diverse ways to encompass a grinding heavy rock with elements of their original electronic sound to capture something totally unique to them. Never tired or stale, they have sought perfection in every facet of their writing, production and staging. No other band to my knowledge has such a tenacious hold on every aspect of their format as they do, thus ensuring that their music reaches their fans in exactly the way they, as artists, intend it. On Monday, 17th November, we went to Osnabrück to enjoy OOMPH! and their support bands at their current tour.

Kaizers Orchestra, Mintzkov, Micke from Sweden
We heard a lot about this Norwegian band, called KAIZERS ORCHESTA, especially about their extraordinary capabilities as a live band and on this cold Sunday evening we wanted to convince ourselves if all this premature praise was justified…
