Skeptical Minds & La-Ventura
On a not too cold winter evening, after having spent the earlier part of the day catching up with old friends in the Museum of Musical Instruments and drinking hot Kriek beer on the Brussels Christmas fair, I headed towards Etterbeek, near the University of Brussels to one of those small neighbourhood theatres you can find so many of in Belgium. My aim that night was not to see a local theatre group perform their latest production. The venue (Théatre de la flute enchantée – Theatre of the magical flute) was chosen by an organisation called Soirées Cérises (Cherry Evenings) to give stage to two bands: La-Ventura from The Netherlands and the Belgian group Skeptical Minds who would take the opportunity to introduce their new lead singer Karolina vel Death.

Negative, Substyle
I went to this concert with mixed feelings, since I knew there would only be five persons on stage and I was unsure, whether this would work out or not. But actually I was glad to see this band again and it was good to find out, that it truly worked. Quite noticeable was the large number of guys coming to the show, what was something really unusual for NEGATIVE...

Septicflesh, Moonspell, Gorgoroth, Cradle of Filth
It’s Metal Time! On 17th December I went to the Filth Fest and five bands were on the agenda. Besides CRADLE OF FILTH also ASRAI, SEPTICFLESH, MOONSPELL and GORGOROTH were supposed to perform. Unfortunately, the band ASRAI had to cancel their performance on short notice. Turns out it was for the benefit of the four remaining acts. When I arrived, I spotted a queue of freezing and soaked people in front of the entrance. One of the bands arrived too late and so the sound check was still ongoing and admission was delayed. The Live-Music-Hall eventually opened its gates with a delay of 1.5 h and when 2/3 of the attendees finally got in, the time had already come…

Oomph!, All Ends, Mina Harker
The monsters from Wolfsburg returned to Bochum. The Zeche was totally sold out, no wonder after the success of the new album and second single 'Labyrinth'. The audience was mixed with younger and older fans but not so many very young girls anymore which became quite normal after the success of ‘Augen auf’. But before it was time for OOMPH! at about 9.15 pm there were MINA HARKER and the Swedish band ALL ENDS with not only one but two front women to kick your ass. ALL ENDS have been already in the top ten of the Swedish charts and they were supporting OOMPH! on their latest tour.
