Laibach announce us the brand new album release, "Volk". The follow up to 2003's "WAT", the album will be released on Mute on 23rd October and will be preceded by a single release, "Anglia" on 9th October 2006. "Volk" is a collection of interpretations of national anthems and includes the national anthem for NSK, the State in time without territory and national boundaries which Laibach have been linked with since its formation in 1984. The opening track, "Germania" uses "Das Lied der Deutschen", originally written in 1797 and used after World War I as the national anthem of the German Empire at the time of the Weimar Republic, and reinterprets it while the single, "Anglia", uses John Bull's "God Save The Queen" as its inspiration. The tracks are mostly sung in English and each anthem has a guest singer, often singing in their native language. Other national anthems included come from the USA, Russia, Italy, Spain, Israel, Turkey, China, Japan, Slovenia and the Vatican. The album will come in a limited edition hardback book format with watercolour artwork by Laibach as well as full sleeve notes explaining each track. Laibach will announce UK dates for later in the year in the near future. In related info, from Friday 1st September on, The Custard Factory in Birmingham will host a weekend of events that features the British premiere of the Laibach kunst inhibition "Instrumentality of the State Machine". The new Northern Lite album "Unisex" has just been released on last Friday and is available in different formats: vinyl album, CD album and as a limited CD album including a bonus DVD. Additionally new tour dates are announced at www.northernlite.de.

Hi there Bambians and friends of the good taste!
The first SUMMER BREEZE in Dinkelsbuehl is just over, at least for you. We are still reviewing and trying to clean the festival site. But it’s clear already: Looking back on it we can say it was all positive. As far as we can say so far the entire festival has run smoothly and there were no bigger problems. Though we know there are quite some things we need to change for the better. The water problem is one of it and the light situation definitely another one. Despite that there is much positive to announce and therefore we would like to say thank you for your support and your cooperation. Your easy behaviour and the party mood you seemed to be in during the entire three days is second to none.
