Apocalyptica, Livingston
APOCALYPTICA have taken their time to record the follow-up to 2007’s ‘Worlds Collide’, some might say it was too long, but good things take their time. As vanguard to the new album, aptly titled ‘7th Symphony’, referencing to it being literally their seventh album, the single ‘End of Me’ with Gavin Rossdale was released, impressively foreshadowing what was going to be raining down on the expectant audience with the Finnish band’s freshest body of work. On their newest symphony, the band presents 8 new instrumental pieces of power and beauty, expanded with four pieces featuring vocals of Brent Smith of SHINEDOWN; Lacey Mosley of FLYLEAF and Joe Duplantier of GOJIRA.

Indica

In fact, the band formed already in 2001 and in 2003 already had a record deal in their bags. The debut ‘Ikuinen Virta’ was released the following year and helped getting a bigger audience through gigs at renowned festivals in Finland. The turning point, igniting their international breakthrough was Tuomas Holopainen’s decision of having singer Jonsu lay down vocals over the Finnish version of a track, called ‘Last Of The Wild’.

The preliminary peak of that evolution was reached with the release of their latest album ‘Stardust Galaxies’ which was certified gold within the week of its release.
