No one knows exactly how old the Finnish monsters are and how long they have been in trouble. The Rock / Heavy Metal band LORDI was officially founded in 1992 by singer, songwriter, visual art designer and costume designer Mr Lordi. The band is deeply rooted in Finland and originally comes from Rovaniemi in northern Lapland.
In 2006 the band achieved their international breakthrough with their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest (‘Hard Rock Hallelujah’) - they won this contest as the first and only Finnish band to date. In addition, LORDI broke all previous point records that have ever been set in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest. But is all of this maybe just our small, miserable reality and are things really different? What if, in truth, LORDI have been active since the early 70s, since then releasing one hit after another to mankind and now, almost 50 years later, can look back over a whole collection of successful songs that have been celebrated somewhere on this planet for decades , and was our reality so far too modest to register? Celebrate exactly that - or should one say better: execute? - LORDI on their new studio album ‘Killection’, which will be released on January 31st via AFM Records / Soulfood Music. Of course the band will go on tour with the new album.
