Coppelius’ Steampunk Opera “Klein Zaches, Great” Zinnober
Something extraordinary is going to take place in Gelsenkirchen in the very near future. The innovative German Steampunk rockers COPPELIUS have decided to collaborate with the symphonic orchestra Neue Philharmonie Westfalen in order to breathe life into E.T.A. Hoffman's 19th century tale ”Klein Zaches, great Zinnober”. They declare it to be the “first Steampunk opera” to ever grace this planet and it is going to be directed by Sebastian Schwab.
Known for their eccentric live performances which bring along lots of laughter and wonder, this opera promises to be one of a kind. The opera will be shown on selected dates in November 2015 and April/May 2016 in the Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen and will celebrate its premier at 14th November.
