Schandmaul, Alle im Schrank
SCHANDMAUL is still a topic – even though the fifth studio album ‘Mit Leib und Seele’ (With body and Soul) was released in March 2006, the fans don’t get enough of it: First Top Ten of the Media Control Charts, then several weeks in the Top 30 and lots of live gigs. But that’s not enough! Also this spring, SCHANDMAUL will remain you that they are always on the road with “body and soul”.
Elaborated arrangements, sophisticated songs and accurate composition make ‘Mit Leib und Seele’ definitely the most mature work of the band. SCHANDMAIL are grown up. Without losing their freshness, the Folk-Rockers unfold their strengths and long lasting experiences: instrumental with striking guitars between gentle caress and powerful cracks, elegantly arranged flutes and bag pipes, exotic hurdy-gurdies and shawms. Accompanying, Thomas Lindner sings metaphoric stories from the world of fantasy with his intimate voice. No, SCHANDMAUL also dare to intersperse influences from Funk and Jazz as well as classic Heavy Metal solos. With this variety, the band ditched all limits. Warm, sweet ballads like ‘Abschied’ stand in contrast to sinister dark hymns such as ‘Feuertanz’ or beamy ear catchers like ‘Vor der Schlacht’. The song ‘Grosses Wasser’ shows unexpected balladeer qualities – with radio guarantee. SCHANDMAUL cannot be put only into the genre “medieval” anymore with the new album; Folk-Rock does not know any boundaries. The third and last part if the “Mit Leib und Seele” tour starts on 30th March 2007. On 8th April, you can see this extraordinary band live on stage at the Kulturfabrik Krefeld. The doors open at 19:00. Tickets can be purchased for 19 EUR pre-sale price. After the concert you have the chance to attend the medieval after show party at the venue.
