Larkin Poe - “Blood Harmony 2023” Tour
Following the release of their critically acclaimed new album ‘Blood Harmony’, which battled for a top 20 position in the UK charts, Grammy Award nominated sister duo LARKIN POE announced details of a major tour of the UK and Europe, starting in October 2023. The tour will see LARKIN POE - Georgia-born, Nashville-based multi-instrumentalists Rebecca and Megan Lovell - increase the capacity of many venues compared to their last visit this summer.
In May 2022, they played a sold-out show at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, which included a surprise guest appearance by Keith Urban. On the new tour, they will be headlining at the much larger Roundhouse in London on 21 October. In Germany, four concerts are on the tour schedule, which will take LARKIN POE to Hamburg’s Große Freiheit 36 on 11 October, Cologne’s E-Werk on 23 October, Munich’s Circus Krone on 30 October and Berlin’s Huxleys on 1 November. LARKIN POE kicked off 2023 with an extensive North American tour that ran until early April, followed by more dates in Australia and New Zealand. The tour is the first opportunity for fans in the UK and Europe to experience the new album, ‘Blood Harmony’, live as part of the headline shows. The album confirms the duo as a major force in shaping the identity of Southern Rock‘n’Roll, breathing new energy into the genre with both a forward-thinking perspective and a decidedly feminine strength.
LARKIN POE produced the new album together with Tyler Bryant (Rebecca’s husband). Megan is responsible for harmony vocals, lap steel and resonator guitar, Rebecca for guitar and keys. They have also brought in members of their long-time live band, including drummer Kevin McGowan and bassist Tarka Layman. The result is an electrifying new body of work that fully showcases the fiery vitality they’ve displayed on their tours around the globe, and gives their songs with both soulful sensitivity and thrilling ferocity. From the feverish guitar work in ‘Bad Spell’ to the rousing ‘Southern Comfort’ and the blistering title track, ‘Blood Harmony’ shows a band in touch with their powerful intuition, underpinning their stories with a blues-heavy sound that cuts straight to the heart.
