LEVELLERS are still going strong after over 35 years. They were and still are one of the best live bands around and released their new studio album ‘Peace’ in 2020, which entered the UK Official Album Charts at number 8 - the band’s highest chart entry since ‘Mouth to Mouth’ from 1997. In 2021, the band celebrated the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough platinum album ‘Levelling The Land’. In the summer of 1991, the album redefined the UK’s musical landscape. ‘Levelling The Land’ contains the hit singles ‘One Way’, ‘15 Years’ and ‘Far From Home’ as well as ‘The Game’, ‘Liberty Song’, ‘Sell Out’, ‘Another Man’s Cause’, ‘Riverflow’, ‘Boatman’ and the stirring ‘Battle Of The Beanfield’.
In 2018, they decided to do something different with their back catalogue and brought legendary producer John Leckie (RADIOHEAD, STONE ROSES) on board to develop new acoustic arrangements with a string section for eight of their previous singles, which they recorded straight to tape at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios - the result was the top 20 album ‘We The Collective’. Following this success, they released a second album of acoustic reworkings in March 2023: ‘Together All The Way’. The release was accompanied by an acoustic tour of selected theatres before they returned to all-electric shows at festivals and clubs for the rest of the year. 2023 was also a very special year for the LEVELLERS in other ways, as they not only celebrated their 35th anniversary as a band, but also the 20th anniversary of their celebrated Beautiful Days Festival in August, which is now one of the largest independent music festivals in the UK.
