The Blackfield Festival is going for the triple at the beginning of a new decade in 2010. Still locating in the midst of the beautiful landscapes of Nordstern Park, and at the shores of Rhine-Herne Canal, the amphi theatre in Gelsenkirchen remains the exceptional venue for the festival. Since its beginnings, the organizers knew how to impress and excite the growing numbers of people with a line-up containing more and lesser known bands.
For the 2010 issue they've come up with some of the bets acts in electronic and hand-made music. Let's begin with the Belgian EBM icons of FRONT 242 who'll present a thrilling Best-Of program, so better be sure to grease your joints, so they're prepared for the dance action. Next up is UNHEILIG, an act that's experienced incredible success recently and surely is making the venue burst. Continuing the impressing list of names are the Swedes of COVENANT with old and new material, the medieval mesmerisers of SUBWAY TO SALLY, as well as DIORAMA's second coming to the festival after the amazing performance back in 2008.
So you see there are plenty of reasons to pay a visit to Gelsenkirchen in 2010 and that's not even the entirety of the line-up of this year's incarnation. Be in to celebrate to good music with lots of friends and enjoy one or the other drink from the broad palette, or take a stroll to see what the little shopping mile has to offer.
